During the creation of the first German-language reference work on the northern part of the third-largest Mediterranean island, I spoke with numerous people who would like to leave Germany. They all unanimously lamented the creeping loss of freedom and quality of life. The reasons are perfectly understandable.

Germany 2025: New government, even worse course: A country more than ever in the stranglehold of regulations, surveillance, and growing lack of freedom.

What are the prospects?
The cost of living is exploding, and inflation is eroding savings. After years of extremely cheap financing, interest rates on mortgages have risen sharply. Banks are scrutinizing the creditworthiness of potential buyers more rigorously, partly due to new EU directives. Buying a house to create a crisis-proof retirement nest egg is now a thing of the past for most people.

Cash?
Soon to be history. Furthermore, with „DAC 8,“ the EU’s anti-money laundering agency „AMLA,“ and the „MiCA“ regulation, the state already has access to every account, every transaction. In Spain, anyone wanting to withdraw more than €3,000 in cash must now register it digitally beforehand – including the purpose, personal details, and recipient. Without official authorization, the bank will suddenly refuse the withdrawal. Even multiple smaller withdrawals can trigger an alarm – completely without suspicion. It’s only a matter of time before this happens here too…

Freedom?
Just a nice word on paper now. Even in everyday life, paternalism and control prevail: less meat, no flights to sunny destinations, ever-new regulations that restrict life and narrow the range of possible opinions.

That makes it all the more important to pursue a „Plan B“ now. „Flying Without Wings“ was designed by me so that after reading it, you have all the relevant information if you foresee your future outside the EU.
